Maui firefighters and the Coast Guard were searching for two paragliders off of Maui's south shore since Wednesday evening.
At around 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, witnesses say they saw what appeared to be two paragliders enter the water about a half mile to three miles off of Keawakapu Beach.
An ocean search was being conducted with the Maui County Fire Department's rescue boat along with a Coast Guard helicopter and a 45-foot-long rescue boat.
Fire rescue crews and the Coast Guard did not find any signs of paragliders in the ocean. There was no other information from paraglider rental companies, paraglider pilots, friends or family members reporting that anyone was missing.
The search ended Thursday at noon.
