A Memorial Day observance today as ONLY Hawaii can do it ... The ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl is a community effort. KITV 4's Ashley Moser shows us how family members, military officers and state officials honored those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. 14 51 59-101 13:39 "OKAY...I GO STRAIT DOWN THE TREE ..." 13:42 Vietnam war veteran Nicolas Young knows the steps to grandpa's grave like the back of his hand. He's made the walk every year for the past 40-years to honor the World War-2 vet. Young 12:36 "HE DIED FOR OUR COUNTRY! THAT'S THE REASON WHY YOU SEE ALL THESE FLAGS HERE. KITV 4 news. Department Parks and Recreation officials say they were nervous about not getting all lei donations in on time for today's service. But they say luckily the last lei came in yesterday at noon.
