in lower Puna he sent us these pictures from the area around Kapoho and Vacationland. He drove through, looking for friends, and hoping to document the destruction - the culprit here? Storm surge, residents telling him it was 5 feet above high tide, rushing in and bringing lots of debris with it. Hunt says people are overwhelmed... IT'S GETTING TOUGH. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN LIVING WITHOUT BASIC NECESSITIES FOR A WHILE NOW, AND NOW I THINK PEOPLE ARE REALLY TIRED. AND NOW I THINK IT'S EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR ANY AND ALL SUPPORT THAT WE CAN GET. YOU KNOW, IF PEOPLE WANT TO HELP PUNA, COME DOWN HERE WITH SOME HOT FOOD, SOME COLD BEVERAGES AND A SHARP CHAINSAW. Hunt tells KITV community members are coming together to get one-another back on their feet, but says they still need lots of outside help.
