The balloon drop that traditionally concludes a presidential convention will not happen following President Obama's acceptance speech.
A Democratic official confirmed to CNN that "there will be a festive conclusion to Thursday night's session, but no balloons."
Earlier Wednesday, President Barack Obama's campaign and the Democratic Party announced that they're moving the concluding day of the Democratic National Convention from the outdoor Bank of America football stadium to the indoor Time Warner Cable arena, where the first two days of the convention are being held.
Campaign and party officials say they are moving indoors for the final night due to the strong possibility of thunderstorms.
