Taxpayers will shell out $7.2 million for the First Family's Hawaii vacation, according to the Hawaii Reporter.

The annual trip usually costs about $4 million, but this year's bump came when President Barack Obama made an unexpected trip back to Washington to settle the "fiscal cliff" negotiations.

Oahu taxpayers pay about $250,000 for the president's Honolulu Police escorts and about $10,000 for a 24-hour city ambulance.
