KITV has learned that Honolulu police have a suspect in custody after an 89-year-old woman was struck and killed Wednesday afternoon on South Beretania Street.
It happened at around 5:25 p.m. near Central Union Church.
Investigators say the suspect was riding an Enduro-style motorcycle. He fell off the motorcycle, but was able to recover and fled the scene.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died.
This was the second pedestrian death on Oahu on Wednesday. Four-and-a-half hours later, a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Kalihi Street.
