Convicted murderer Toby Stangel is most likely to spend the rest of his life in prison.
On Wednesday, the Hawaii Paroling Authority set a mandatory minimum sentence for Stangel of 130 years in prison, according to HPA Administrator Tommy Johnson.
On June 3, 2011, Stangel went on a shooting spree on and around the H-1 Freeway from Kaimuki all the way to Kalihi.
He was convicted of murdering Tammy Nguyen, a mother of 10. He was also convicted of attempted murder for wounding two other people as well as firearms violations.
The court ordered Stangel to serve consecutive sentences. He will be up for parole on May 1, 2141.
Stangel will be able to apply for a reduction for his minimum sentence on May 17, 2071, when he will be 87 years old.
