The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no destructive Pacific-wide tsunami after 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck near New Zealand on Monday.
It happened at around 9:19 a.m. Hawaii time.
The initial magnitude was measured at 7.2. It has since been downgraded to a magnitude-6.9 quake, by the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicenter was 60 miles south-southeast of Raoul Island.
