The Keauhou Beach Hotel may be no more. The hotel may be torn down to create an educational center for cultural resources.
Those are just part of the plans outlined in a draft environmental assessment for the shuttered Big Island hotel.
Landowner Kamehameha Schools say restoring the hotel wouldn't be profitable.
West Hawaii Today reports that razing the hotel is expected to cost about $11.5 million and the entire project is expected to cost about $34 million.
