A 50-year-old Haleiwa man was critically injured early Friday in a single-car crash, police said.
Honolulu police traffic investigators said the man was driving a black 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck on Kamehameha Highway near Anahulu Bridge just before 2 a.m.
Police said the truck crossed the center line of the highway and crashed into a utility pole.
The man suffered major injuries, according to police.
A report from Emergency Medical Services said the victim was not wearing a seat belt.
Police said the man was taken by ambulance in critical condition to the Queen's Medical Center. Police also said that speed and alcohol may be factors in the crash.
