Yamada. It's been one week since President Obama's Affordable Health Care Law went into affect-- but Hawaii's Health Connector program STILL isn't up to speed. Hawaii lawmakers plan to address the issue during an all-day hearing at the state capitol today--- The state's insurance exchange website isn't allowing insurance companies to sell any of their plans... And people looking for health insurance can't see what options are available. The Hawaii Health Connector Executive among those expected to testify. Pawaa In-Ha Park re-opens today -- after a two week closure. City crews shut down the park to trim the trees and move the homeless and their tents off the sidewalk. City officials say the park AND the surrounding sidewalk will re- open at 3 P-M. This morning -- the state will provide an update on the month-old , massive molasses spill that killed thousands of fish. The state plans to detail its strategy moving forward as it continues to assess the damage to the environment. The government shutdown has slowed down some aspects of the investigation and research of the molasses spill -- since many federal partners are currently not on the job. State health officials are investigating one of the most popular selling weight loss products on the market. Health officials are asking retailers around the state... to voluntarily stop selling all Oxy- ELITE Pro products during this investigation. So far -- 29 cases of acute hepatitis and liver failure have been reported in Hawaii. Health officials say Oxy-ELITE Pro is the only product -- used by 24 of those patients -- prior to developing symptoms. Two patients received liver transplants -- and one DIED. Health officials have this warning for consumers.. 2004: "IF THEY ARE USING A DIETARY SUPPLEMENT THEY SHOULD USE IT WHILE CONSULTING WITH THEIR PHYSICIAN AND IF THEY ARE NOT FEELING WELL, THEN EVEN MORE THEY SHOULD BE TALKING WITH THEIR PHYSICIAN." G-N-C is still selling the product. When KITV contacted the corporate office, we received no response. A health alert for raw chicken from Foster Farms. The U-S Department of Agriculture says strains of Salmonella have been detected in the product -- including ONE possible case here in Hawaii, although officials say the person MAY be a visitor from Florida.
