Thanks for watching KITV4 News Online , I'm Lara Yamada. A Mililani woman is in the hospital this morning-- after being stabbed in her OWN home. It happened on Aina-Makua Drive near Mililani Mauka Park. Honolulu police say the victim was attacked by her sister and an UNKNOWN man around 11 yesterday morning. The two then held her AGAINST her will-- and forced her to make online purchases. The victim transported HERSELF to Wahiawa General Hospital-- ...and was later taken to Queens Medical Center. No word on her condition. A 45-year-old man has died after surfing "Silver Channels" surf spot. Fire officials say the man's wife reported him missing. After a shoreline search... crews found the missing surfer around 10-45 last night at the Haleiwa Boat Harbor. Emergency crews pronounced him dead upon arrival. Despite the government shutdown -- military civilian workers are back at work this morning. At Pearl Harbor, that means nearly three-thousand civilian workers have resumed their duties which includes working on three nuclear submarines in drydock. They will join the approximately 350-thousand DOD civilian workers returning nationwide. Some of Hawaii's military commissaries will reopen for business this morning. That's after a rush last week that left shelves empty at many locations, when the government shutdown was initially announced. Hickam Air Force Base's commissary stated that they will be open on their website. The commissary expects their shelves to be fully restocked by this Friday for any holiday needs. The trial begins TODAY for the man charged with allegedly throwing a tourist off a cliff... 37-year old Justin Klein was deemed fit to stand trial in June. Klein has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder... for allegedly throwing a 31-year old woman off the Kalalau Trail in December. The woman was critically injured -- but survived. A Big Island woman facing charges of scamming Hawaii homeowners... is defending her work as a "cerftified forensic loan auditor." 37:14-37:23 "I DID NOT COMMIT ANY CRIME, I AM INNOCENT THAT IS WHY I WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW WHO I AM AND WHAT I AM DOING" Flanked by supporters, Edna Franco said she LEGITIMATELY reviewed loan documents for an attorney for forgery, fraud, and misrepresentation by banks. But the state consumer protection office says Franco was scamming people. Franco was ordered last year to stop her services ---but didn't. She now faces 252-thousand dollars in fines -- a thousand dollars for each day of violations Consultants who help homeowners facing foreclosure cannot ask for or receive money upfront for services -- but Franco said as an "auditor" -- she feels she legally CAN. State money is finally flowing -- a quarter million dollars -- for a new Makiki library. The current library is not a part of the state library system, and is run by volunteers. Right now, books are bought with donated money or simply donated to the library. While many patrons appreciate the quiet and charm of the small library -- the lack of funding limits hours of operation and books available to the Makiki community. All that would change if Makiki had an upgraded library funded and run by the state. 20:40-20:54 IF YOU CAN'T COME IN TO THE LIBRARY WHEN WE'RE OPEN YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE OTHER STATE LIBRARIES AND IT WOULD BE MORE CONVIENENT FOR THE COMMUNITY" 1:58 "THIS WILL BE A LOT OF TECHNOLOGY RICH ENVIRONMENT, DESK AND LAPTOP COMPUTERS, WIRELESS INTERNET, PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE LIBRARY'S 4 MILLION PRINT MATERIALS AND ON-LINE MATERIALS" The first 250-thousand dollars is just for the planning of a new library. Amazing video caught by a witness of a car on fire... that apparently started with a police chase. That ball of fire was a STOLEN Honda Civic... burning in the Middle of Hopoe Place in Waikele Saturday night. Police say 25-year-old Kristopher Kresge has been charged. He was seen driving recklessly --- before hitting a light pole. Kresge was taken to the trauma center in serious condition and is being held on 20-thousand dollars bail.
