Thanks for watching KITV4 news online. I'm Mahealani Richardson. An overnight crash on Maui left one man dead. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Zackery McGuire. He died after crashing his S- U-V near the intersection of Omilu Place and Limu Ele Ele Street in Waiehu -- just before 11 last night. Police say McGuire was trying to make a turn onto Limu Ele Ele Street -- when his SUV overturned -- and landed on its side. His 28-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries. Police say speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash. An attempted murder investigation has been opened after a man was stabbed in Haleiwa. Police say the 18-year-old male suspect remains behind bars this morning -- after being arrested for attempted murder. He has not yet been charged. No word yet on the extent of his injuries. The latest report released by Hospitality advisors L-L-C show that statewide hotel revenue through June rose to nearly $1.8 billion. That's nearly a 12 percent gain since last year. Nationally, Hawaii now ranks second in average daily rate and revenue per room behind New York City. Overall, statewide occupancy improved slightly to 77 percent. A traffic alert for drivers... ... East Honolulu drivers can expect some delays tonight. Lanes on Kalanianaole Highway headed Westbound will be closed between Kealahou Street and Lunalilo Home Road -- as crews complete guardrail repairs.
