Thanks for watching KITV-4 News Online, I'm Mahealani Richardson. A dramatic escape this morning from a Kaneohe house fire left one woman in SERIOUS condition. KITV-4's Ryan Kalei Tsuji has details... On the Big Island ... A preliminary hearing is scheduled for TODAY -- for two home invasion robbery suspects. Dustin Jose and Jack Vaughn have been charged in connection with the incident in Hawaiian Paradise Park on Friday July 12th. They're accused of assaulting a man and woman, and stealing a purse and backpack. A Hilo man accused of shooting and wounding two police officers has been found fit to stand trial. The Hawaii Tribune Herald reports, Keaka Martin shot the officers back in January-- ending a 20 hour long manhunt in Hilo. Both officers underwent surgery, but survived the shooting. A trial has been scheduled for November 4th. A new study released this morning shows same-sex marriage-- could boost Hawaii tourism and the economy. According to Hawaii United for Marriage-- IF Hawaii's Legislature passes a marriage equality law -- Hawaii would gain 217-million dollars in additional visitor spending between 2014 and 2016. It also projects state and county general excise tax revenues would INCREASE by more than 10-million dollars... And would lead to substantial federal tax savings for married same sex couples. Some residents in Niu Valley woke up without water this morning -- after an 8-inch main broke overnight. The Board of Water Supply says it happened shortly after 10 last night -- near 118 Hawaii Loa Street. Three homes were without water service -- and a water wagon is on site. Crews are expected to work to repair the break throughout the day. Honolulu mayor Kirk Caldwell today will announce the new Administrator of the city's new Transit-Oriented Development Program. The person is said to be a veteran transportation planner. The announcement is scheduled AFTER the City Council's Committee on Zoning and Planning hearing -- set for 9 this morning.
