THAT'S MISSING."." Anyone who has had a pet run away.. knows the pain involved.. with wondering what happened to it. But not everyone gives up their search easily... Mark Tauscheck spoke with a Des Moines man going to extreme measures to find a dog, that he says is important for his wife's health. Greg Jones owns an Akita named SuzyQ - the 125 pound dog escaped from his backyard almost 7 weeks ago... His nephew recommended hiring a Nebraska woman who tracks and often finds missing pets. 5:05-"such an awesome animal, beautiful on the outside and on the inside as well." Greg Jones hasn't seen his beloved Suzy Q since mid- March... 5:01-"it's like she is my daughter..." Suzy escaped out a hole in the fence and took off across the street - Greg didn't see her go that way. 14:14-"i hope she can find my susy ..." 17:32-"kiss, dog jumps out" ...but that's the way Karin Tarqwyn says she went... 19:02-"find it, find it..good boy, show me..." Tarqwyn owns Lost Pet Professionals - she says her company has tracked pets in almost every state...using rescue dogs she handpicks and trains ... 20:23-"good boy nash" 26:09-"i think it's easier for them to find a dog than a human, but the search for a dog is much more difficult, it's much longer." Over two days her dogs have followed Suzy's scent over five miles into east Des Moines ... 25:32-"it is likely suzy is what we call an extreme roamer ..." She uses a wad of Suzy's hair to rejuventate her searchers... 35:50-"find it! Good boy!" 26:20-"we're going on 7 weeks that she's been missing and they pick it up as if it was yesterday.." Greg Jones says he took out a loan to afford the 700 dollars a day he is paying for the professional search...but before you roll your eyes and tell him to buy a new dog. 8:45-"it just puts lots of joy in her heart..." Understand he is doing this, to reunite Suzy, with his wife - an Alzheimer's patient. 10:50-"she really loves that dog" ...who does better, when Suzy comes for her daily visit. 9:25-"now that she has not been able to visit with her, my wife keeps calling her name..." 34:12- 31:45-"it's really hard to take a day off, really hard.. " 35:24-"let's go are we ready?" Karin Tarqwyn says over 80 percent of her clients have a positive outcome. She says in this case it will likely be a tip from a citizen that solves the case.
