A Kauai pet dog named Lola has survived being shot at allegedly by a disgruntled neighbor.
The Garden Island newspaper reports the dog followed a female neighbor to a stop sign on Kuke Street. Then a male suspect shot at the dog from his property before retreating inside.
The female phoned police immediately and a Kilauea veterinarian was shocked to discover the bullet missed all vital organs and bones. Vets pulled a .22 caliber bullet from the 10-year-old dog.
The suspect was released from police custody after posting a $6,000 bail.
