A long simmering dispute over Kalaeloa Raceway Park is coming to a head and it could cause races at the track to come to a halt soon.
Board members of the Department of Hawaiian Homelands put lessee George Grace Junior on notice. He has 30 days to vacate the area.
The board says Grace is behind some $40,000 in rent and utilities and also owes the city thousands of dollars in fines for illegal grading and stockpiling.
But, Grace fired back with a lawsuit. He has maintained the department selectively enforced its rules and favored some lessees and punished others.
The raceway park is one of 18 lessees whose permits or rights of entry were terminated by the board Monday.
