Maui resident Marty Whetham, 41, was sentenced Thursday to one year in prison and four years probation after he was arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant for the fifth time.
According to the Maui News, the judge asked him in court, "When will you learn?"
Whetham pleaded no contest to the charges against him. He had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when he was arrested in 2013.
His prior convictions were in 2004, 2008, 2010 and 2012. Whetham says he's committed to getting help.
