A Hawaii woman who claims to be a pro surfer appeared in court today accused of attempted murder. Jill Hansen made her first appearance on second-degree murder charges Monday.
Police say she tried repeatedly to run over 73-year-old Elizabeth Conklin in a Waikiki parking garage.
In court documents released Monday, a maintenance man, Christopher Khoury, describes hearing an impact and then seeing Conklin partially wedged under a parked car. He said Hansen tried to reverse and hit Conklin again. Khoury then shattered her rear window with a crowbar.
Khoury also said in the police report, that Hanson exited her vehicle and yelled out "My father made me do this, he's a high-powered attorney," then fled the scene.
Conklin says she thinks the attack was because Hansen was determined to get a BMW. Hansen stated her desire for a 3 Series BMW on her Facebook page back in February.
Hansen has not posted bond and remains in custody. A preliminary hearing will be held on Wednesday.
