A sergeant with the Honolulu Police Department has been charged with driving under the influence and refusing to take a sobriety test.
According to police records, 59-year-old Susan Medeiros was taken into custody Tuesday at 2 p.m. near the Neal Blaisdell Center.
Medeiros posted a $1,000 bail and was released.
Because of the arrest, her police powers have been suspended. She will not be allowed to carry a weapon and will have to work behind a desk when she returns to duty.
