The median price of a single-family home jumped 8.3 percent in May over the same month last year, according to the Honolulu Board of Realtors.
In statistics released Saturday, the board said the median price of a single-family home on Oahu was $682,000.
That compares with $630,000 in May 2013.
Sales were up as well, jumping 14.7 percent over May 2013.
The board said homes were on the market for an average of 20 days.
Condo sales were slower, up only 1.1 percent, but that didn't stop prices from jumping there as well.
The median price of a condo in May was up 12.7 percent to $355,000 from $315,000, according to the board.
“These robust numbers point to a very active market,” Honolulu Board of Realtors President Julie Meier said in a news release.
Meier said that the strong demand coupled with near all-time high prices could spur more homeowners to put their properties on the market.
