are hoping to continue Hawaii's record-setting number of visitor arrivals through 20-15, but it's an uphill battle. According to the Star Advertiser- other destinations like Mexico and the Caribbean are luring travelers away from the islands. Visitors from the west coast are expected to drop by 3 point 1 percent...and latin american visitation is projected to shrink by more than 10 and a half percent. The number of cruise visitors is also targeted to drop by more than 20 percent. The H-T-A is hosting a tourism conference this Thursday and Friday to discuss the state of the industry and explain marketing plans.
