A Puna woman is behind bars Thursday after pointing a gun at a Pahoa elementary school, causing the school to go on lockdown.
According to Big Island police, 49-year-old Lokelani Lenore Harbrecht-Kalua was believed to be brandishing a firearm at a home next to Keoneopoko Elementary School around 7:18 a.m.
Reports also indicate that she was pointing the gun at the school in the Hawaiian Beaches subdivision.
The school went on lockdown as a precaution. No one was injured in the incident.
Harbrecht-Kalua was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
