Good Evening I'm Yunji De Nies. A recent string of robberies has victims shaken up and police searching for suspects. KITV4's Brenton Awa is live in the newsroom with the details. Brenton... Yunji -- There's been six recent robberies in the past two weeks at gas stations and mini marts from Aiea to Waialua. Three of those were on the same street in Waipio. Employees there had plenty to tell us but did not want to go on camera. Crime Stoppers has released surveillance video and wants the public to look closely... This 711 in Aiea near Aiea Bowl was robbed just after 2-A-M on Christmas Eve ... Two employees who were at the counter that morning tell us they were inspecting a fake 100-dollar bill just given to them by a customer and had their backs turned when this suspect came in... They say the man yelled at them -- demanding money and threatened to pull out a weapon. The employees emptied their drawers and said the man ran off with just 80-dollars because the workers keep only about 35-dollars in cash on hand. Later that night another robbery at a Shell Gas Station over in Waipio near Ka Uka Blvd. Employees here tell us this man came in wearing a "zorro" type mask just two hours after an HPD officer stopped by -- telling them to be on the lookout for a suspect that could strike at any time. Employees say he stole 150- dollars from the register, then fled. The employees believe the suspect or suspects to be in the same group because of prior robberies this month at this Tesoro station just across the street -- and this 711 further down Ka Uka Blvd. But it's not just happening in Aiea and Waipio... This surveillance video out of the Goodies Market in Wahiawa shows another man holding a handgun while attempting to steal some cash. He was wearing a dark blue jacket and a camouflage hat.... And this video from a 711 in Waialua shows a similar situation... This suspect is wearing a green long sleeve shirt with a another shirt covering his face... Crimestoppers says this man also pulled out a handgun while demanding money. Police have not confirmed if these recent robberies are related. If you have any information on these events -- you're asked to call CrimeStoppers.
