Victim's friend: Agent repeated threats to shoot
The friend of a man shot and killed in a Waikiki McDonald's says the federal agent on trial for his murder threatened repeatedly to shoot him.
Shane Medeiros testified Thursday the agent told Kollin Elderts: "Acting like this will get you shot."
State Department Special Agent Christopher Deedy is accused of being intoxicated while shooting Elderts in the chest in 2011.
Medeiros says he noticed Deedy standing over Elderts, who had been joking around earlier with a customer.
He says Elderts responded to the shooting threats with, "If you going shoot me, then shoot me."
He described Elderts being upset about the threat and standing up. Medeiros says Deedy then reached for his gun.
Elderts died of a single gunshot to the chest.
Deedy claims he was acting in self-defense.
