Good evening. I'm pamela young. Two people are in critical condition after their Jeep reportedly got stuck in a puddle just before 4 tonight. Rescue crews were sent to Kaena near an off-road trail. Witness Kurt Greenbaum says the wet and windy weather made it difficult to make out details, but he could see several jeeps were huddled in the area. I SAW THE HELICOPTERS GOING AROUND, 3 FIRE TRUCKS, 2 AMBULANCES AND 4 OR 5 POLICE CARS. ONE PERSON WAS AIRLIFTED, THE 2ND PERSON BROUGHT OUT BY 4-WHEEL DRIVE." Authorities say the muffler of the jeep was underwater and that the windows were rolled up so it's possible the victims suffered carbon monoxide poisoning. A fisherman noticed the pair unresponsive in the car- and called police. CPR was performed on both victims. Authorities say the woman was breathing on her own...man was not . Both are believed to be in their 20's. They were rushed to Wahiawa General and Pali Momi hospitals.
