TRAFFIC ADVISORY: H-1 repaving Monday, UHM move-in Tuesday
A heads up for Oahu drivers Monday and Tuesday as re-surfacing on the H-1 and the University of Hawaii Manoa move-in are expected to cause some traffic backups.
Monday night from 8:30 p.m. until 4 a.m. Tuesday the Department of Transportation will be closing multiple lanes of the H-1 freeway westbound from the Punahou Street On-Ramp to the Lunalilo Street Off-Ramp. This will allow crews to resurface the freeway.
And the area surrounding UHM is expected to be busy as some 4,000 students begin to move into campus residence halls starting Tuesday.
Delays are expected along Dole & Date Streets as well as University Avenue.
Tuesday and Friday are the designated move-in days for students. Parking will also be affected by the increased volume of cars.
