Semi-truck driven hazardously onto Queens BeachUPDATED 8:34 AM HST Jun 30, 2013Video Transcript
A BIZZARE scene in Waikiki -- a semi-truck driving down the WRONG way on Kalakaua Avenue and ending up on the BEACH. Police say the commotion started around 11-40 last night. Witnesses reported this truck being driven HAZARDOUSLY near Kapiolani Park. Police say he eventually came back into Waikiki -- driving the WRONG way on Kalakaua Avenue -- and crashed through some trees and ended up on the sand. 15-25: "HE WAS PROBABLY GOING ABOUT 30-35 MILES AN HOUR. HE CLIPPED THE TREE, HE GOT IT PRETTY BAD AND THEN HE RAN OVER THE ROCK LEDGE AND THEN HIGH-TAILED IT INTO THE WATER." The Honolulu Fire Department assisted police in locating the man. He was finally pulled out of the water and arrested around 1-30 this morning. The 44-year-old has been arrested on NUMEROUS traffic violations and auto theft. Luckily -- NO ONE was hurt.
