A City Council resolution that urges Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell's administration to identify possible locations for restrooms int the Chinatown-Downtown area passed a committee vote on Tuesday.
Business owners and residents say they're tired of their community being used as a toilet by the large homeless population.
The administration supports the idea, but is concerned about a shortage of funds and maintenance.
The resolution now heads to the full council on Jan. 29. If it passes, the administration would have to provide recommended solutions for restrooms in the Chinatown-Downtown area.
