The headquarters of WorkHawaii at Dillingham Plaza was closed Wednesday by the Department of Community Services due to a Hawaiian Electric Company power outage affecting a number of buildings in that area, according to city officials.
WorkHawaii employees assigned to the Dillingham facility were sent home at about 9:30 a.m. after HECO informed the city that the outage was expected to last through the end of the work day.
WorkHawaii employees with field assignments continueD to be on the job. The city expects the Dillingham facility to reopen on Thursday, pending HECO's successful restoration of power.
WorkHawaii is the lead agency for Oahu WorkLinks, which offers business services and job seeker services.
