One of the largest manhunts the Honolulu Police Department has conducted may be over.
Police say a 30-year-old man was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Friday on North Vineyard Boulevard.
The suspect was wanted in connection with at least two sexual assault cases -- near Makaloa Street and in Liliha -- over the the past 6 months.
The assaults took place in the morning in area apartments.
HPD consulted with the FBI scouring neighborhoods.
"We conducted a surveillance operation in the Kaheka area. During that time, a male was observed to match the description of the suspect," said Maj. Richard Robinson. "Officers contacted him during the course of the conversation. He gave answers that raised our suspicions."
The suspect was arrested on four counts of sexual assault, kidnapping and burglary.
The man has not yet been charged.
