Honolulu police say a 94-year-old man who was hit by a car in a hit-and-run on Friday is now in critical condition.
Paramedics were called to the scene at around 7:40 a.m. to Waialae Avenue near 5th Avenue.
Investigators say the car was headed eastbound on Waialae Avenue when it ran a red light and hit the man, who was in a marked crosswalk.
The victim was originally hospitalized in serious, but stable, condition, according to Emergency Medical Services officials.
The man's condition worsened in the afternoon to critical condition. Police are looking for the car involved in the hit-and-run, which is possibly green.
The road was reopened just after 10 a.m.
