The 21st annual New Year's 'Ohana Festival will be held on Sunday, Jan. 19 at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i and Mo'ili'ili Field.
It will run from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m.
This event will feature food, crafts, entertainment and cultural demonstrations. This year the festival will feature 20 food vendors including favorites such as Big T’s Shrimp Truck, okonomiyaki, KC Waffle Dogs, grilled mochi, shave ice, and andagi to name a few.
There will also be 40 craft vendors, games and make-and-take activities for children, kimono dressing, and mochi pounding and martial arts demonstrations. There will be a packed schedule of entertainment including a performance by the Royal Hawaiian Band, Taiko Center of the Pacific, and a special guest appearance by actor Taylor Wily!
This will also be the first year the festival will feature a keiki kendama tournament. Space is limited to the first 16 participants per age bracket (four age brackets).
Admission is free, although there are certain fees for certain activities.
Free parking and free shuttle service are available at the University of Hawaiii at Manoa parking structure on Dole Street.
