Nine of Hawaii's bravest soldiers were honored in our nation's capitol.
Their names were added to the National Guard's Medal of Honor Gallery Tuesday.
Representative Colleen Hanabusa and Tulsi Gabbard, a member of the Hawaii National Guard attended the ceremony and sent these photos from Washington D.C.
In 2000, eight members of the Hawaii National Guard were awarded with Medals of Honor for their unwavering valor and service in World War II. An additional Hawaii guardsman was recognized for his bravery in Korea in 2011.
