If the mall is your destination this week, you'll have to go with lots of patience.
With three days before Christmas, Ala Moana Shopping Center is bustling with gift-giving procrastinators. Stores are playing up to the constant stream of last-minute shoppers with red tag prices.
"Since it's close to Christmas time, it's crunch time... they are coming in getting all their stuff, so it has been really really busy now," said Kaleo Tanoai an employee at T & C Surf.
Many shoppers said today is actually their first day of gift buying for Christmas.
Shelley Oshiro just started on her four-paged list full of names.
"Just starting so still have a couple more days... just from here is 14 gifts, and I still have a lot more to do," said Oshiro while shopping at T & C Surf.
"Just been so hectic lately. I haven't started at all, so we came out this morning thinking there would be a lot of traffic, but it wasn't too bad coming here," said shopper Richard Wan.
But once at the mall, with an influx of shoppers, parking spaces fill up fast, frustrating not only customers but employees.
"Parking is ridiculous especially for us. We have to go one hour earlier just for work just to look for parking," said Justin Daily with Tricked Out Accessories.
The construction at the shopping center is making the parking situation worse. Certain lots are blocked off and traffic is redirected. But, people said they are still trying to keep the holiday spirit alive even though the shopping mania.
Store managers are still expecting Christmas Eve to be the busiest shopping day this week.
