Late Sen. Daniel Inouye recognized by transportation association
The late senator Daniel Inouye was honored Tuesday for his work in backing the Honolulu Rail Project.
The American Public Transportation Association gave Inouye the 2013 Distinguished Service Award for his influence in securing more than one and a half billion dollars in federal grant funding.
The APTA awards committee also recognized Inouye for his work in building critical roads, modernizing airports, and expanding bus service.
