HALEIWA, Hawaii -

The Laniakea Task Force is scheduled to vote on a traffic solution at Laniakea Beach during its meeting at Haleiwa Elementary School Wednesday evening.

Many people go to Oahu's North Shore to see the waves and to see the sea turtles at Laniakea Beach.  That has people parking on the side of the road and crossing Kamehameha Highway, which causes gridlock.

There is a Hawaii Department of Transportation proposal to set up barricades in the area so that people can't park on the side of the road.

Some members of the task force say this short-term solution to the traffic leaves them no choice but to vote in favor of the parking blockade.

The meeting at Haleiwa Elementary starts at 6:30 p.m.
