KOLOA, Hawaii -

The Tree Tunnel portion of Maluhia Road will be closed on Saturday, July 13, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., to allow community groups to clean the gateway to the South Shore in preparation for the Koloa Plantation Days.

During the closure, traffic will be diverted to Piko, Oma'o and Koloa roads.

Motorists should allow extra travel time and follow the speed limits and all posted signs.

The Tree Tunnel beautification project is spearheaded by the Po'ipu Beach Resort Association in partnership with other community organizations.

The county and the community groups involved in this project would like to thank the public for their understanding and cooperation.

Anyone that would like to participate in the cleanup can call Stella Burgess at 240-6369.
