H-3 reopened after multiple vehicle crash

HONOLULU -

Honolulu police say the Kaneohe-bound lanes on the H-3 Freeway were closed Monday evening due to a multiple vehicle crash just before the Harano Tunnel.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m.

Police say one vehicle was on fire.  A witness says a white van was on fire and had an acetylene bottle in it.  The witness says there was a loud explosion, believed to be a fuel tank.

Three people were hospitalized in stable condition.  Two other people refused treatment.

The freeway was reopened at around 9:42 p.m.
