Kamuela crash victim identified
Gorman, 25, crashed into storage building
The woman who died Tuesday from injuries she received in a one-vehicle crash on North Kaniku Drive at the entrance of the Fairmont Orchid hotel has been identified as 25-year-old Pamela Sue Gorman of Hawi, according to Big Island police.
At 7:57 p.m, police say a 2006 Toyota four-door sedan driven by Gorman was traveling west on North Kaniku Drive when she ran off the right side of the road and crashed into a storage building.
Gorman was taken to Kona Community Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:48 p.m.
Gorman was wearing a seat belt.
Investigators say speed was a factor in this crash.
