HONOLULU -

Kalihi store owner Myung Hui said if the suspect had just looked up, he would have seen the "Smile" sign and known everything he was about to do would be recorded.

The surveillance video shows the man walking into Ono's M Market on Kalihi Street at around 5 a.m. on July 19 and waving a gun at Hui's husband.

The store owner says the robber then told her husband to go around the counter and started yelling at him to give him money.

Hui is no stranger to crimes like this.  She says it was the fourth robbery attempt in six years.

This one was quick -- lasting less than half a minute.  Hui was in the store but off camera.  She said she was scared for her husband's life.

"My husband turned around inside.  He pushed the bell.  Emergency bell.  So big making noise.  So, he nervous.  Hurry up, give me money, give me money," said Hui.

With a gun pointed at her husband's neck, Hui tried to see the man's face but couldn't.

"He have mask cover all face.  So, I can't see face," said Hui.

With the alarm going off, she yelled, "The police are coming!"  That's when the man hid his gun under his shirt and ran out of the store.
