A 48-year-old man accused of stabbing another man to death at Kailua District Park last Friday made his first appearance in court on Monday.

Court documents say a witness told police they say Brian Kim lunge toward the 58-year-old victim apparently punching him.

The witness unsuccessfully chased Kim after the victim said he was stabbed.

The medical examiner says the victim bled out from a stab wound to his thigh.

Kim is being held on $250,000 bail.  A preliminary hearing was set for Wednesday.
