Maui County fire investigators are looking into the cause of a structure fire that caused $1,000,000 in damage, according to early estimates.
Firefighters were dispatched to South Wakea Avenue for a structure fire just before 6:30 a.m. Monday. Crews found a metal building, 180-feet-long by 30-feet-wide, with fire on the south end of the building.
About half of the structure was damaged by the fire. The fire was called under control just after 9:30 a.m. and extinguished just before noon.
Fire officials say the building was the old Maui Pine offices, which was purchased by Easter Seals and undergoing renovations.
No injuries were reported.
