Japanese visitor hospitalized after near drowning at Hanauma Bay
EMS: Woman, 64, was snorkeling because found unresponsive in 3-4 feet of water
A 64-year-old woman from Japan was found unresponsive in about 3-to-4-feet of water at Hanauma Bay on Thursday and was hospitalized in critical condition, according to Emergency Medical Services officials.
It happened at around 12 p.m. The woman was snorkeling at the popular visitor attraction.
Lifeguards brought her out of the water and performed CPR and were able to get a pulse.
