motorists. Good evening, I'm Yunji de Nies. And I'm Kenny Choi. Just a day out of the hospital -- one man goes back to the site where he was a victim of a hit- and-run. KITV4's Brenton Awa has the story all new at 10. 23 Lionel Wright's recollection of what happened two days ago remains clear... But he admits -- since being hit by a car -- his thoughts are sometimes cloudy. 2432 "I JUST WAS THINKING, HOPEFULLY GOD CAN BRING ME THROUGH THIS BRAH." On Tuesday morning -- Wright was riding his moped down Pensacola avenue... He says he had the Green light -- but a car blind-sided him. 2304 - 2314 "I WAS ALREADY IN THE INTERSECTION AND I COULDN'T DO ANYTHING, I WAS JUST RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM ALREADY. I WAS JUST HOPING THAT HE SLOWS DOWN ENOUGH SO I COULD GET PASS HIM." But that didn't happen... The car clipped the back of Wright's moped -- putting him in a spin. 2324 "RIGHT WHERE THESE YELLOW CONES ARE, THAT'S WHERE I ACTUALLY IMPACTED THE ROAD AND SLID ALL THE WAY HALF WAY DOWN THE CURB." Wright went to the hospital with cuts to his head -- knees -- and elbows. His ribs are still bruised -- and he now has 7 stitches above his left eye. Looking back -- he has a message for other moped riders... 2549 "IF I COULD TELL PEOPLE ONE THING REALLY, IT WOULD BE THIS BRAH, YOU SHOULD WEAR A HELMET OR BETTER YET, JUST DON'T RIDE THEM AT ALL." Wright also admits he wasn't wearing a helmet. 2558 "I THOUGHT THAT I WAS GOING TO BE THE EXCEPTION TO RIDE A MOPED AND NOT GET INJURED, AND HERE I AM TALKING IN FRONT OF YOU, AND I CAN TELL YOU THIS, I DON'T WANT TO RIDE A MOPED EVER AGAIN." White tells us he's still having problems moving around and doing what used to be simple tasks -- but he does want to forgive the driver who fled the scene.
