The National Weather Service has posted a high surf advisory for the north and west facing shores of Kauai, and the north facing shores of Oahu and Molokai on Wednesday until 6 p.m. Friday.
Forecasters say a North Pacific low pressure system has generated a west-northwest swell that will arrive in the islands Wednesday night. The swell will produce large and hazardous surf across exposed north facing beaches of Kauai, Oahu and Molokai through Friday.
Surf will be around 10-to-15-feet-high with advisory levels by midnight Wednesday through Thursday afternoon. The surf is expected to drop slightly Thursday evening before building quickly again Thursday night.
