A number of checked bag fees are planned to soar for customers flying on Hawaiian Airlines.
Hawaiian Airlines has indicated that fees for checked bags, oversized bags and overweight bags will be jumping, and in some cases doubling, beginning March 10.
From then on, your first checked bag will cost you $25 (formerly $17), second bag $35 (also formerly $17) and $50 for every bag thereafter (formerly $25).
There is some reprieve for HawaiianMiles members. Their first bag will set them back $15, while the second bag will cost $20.
It is free to join that miles program.
Checked bag fees for trips to North America will remain the same, with the first two checked bags remaining free for international flights.
Oversized bag fees will jump from $25 to $35 on March 10 as well.
For checked bags that weigh more than the alotted 50 lbs maximum, increases will go up incrementally.
Bags between 51 - 70lbs will be charged $35 (formerly $25), while bags between 71 - 100lbs will be charged $70 (formerly $50). Bags weighing more than 100lbs will not be accepted.
