State House Speaker Joe Souki sent a formal letter to Rep. Faye Hanohano on Thursday reprimanding her for her behavior at certain public committee meetings.
William Aila, the chairman of the Department of Land Resources, and Lewis Jacobs both made former complaints against Hanohano.
Souki says the complaints about what Hanohano said and her interactions with the complainants are substantially accurate. Souki says Hanohano's conduct was "intimidating" and displayed a "lack of respect and courtesy."
The House speaker also said that Hanohano's conduct was unacceptable and in violation of the House Code of Legislative Conduct and was disruptive to the workplace.
Souki says the representative from the Big Island will be monitored by the leadership for the remainder of this legislative session.
If another incident similar to these incidents occur again, Hanohano will be immediately removed from all committee assignments and the House will deal with further disciplinary action.
KITV will have more on this story tonight at 5, 6 and 10.
