A girls night out turns into a missing persons case. Ivanice Joruth Harris, known to her friends as Ivy from Portland, Ore., has been missing since Thursday morning.
"She was was my world, she was my best friend. We did everything together," said Harris' boyfriend Mark Miles.
Harris' friends posted and passed out flyers up and down the streets of Waikiki. They are doing whatever they can to find Harris. Her two friends and boyfriend of eight years flew to Hawaii for her birthday. She disappeared after what was supposed to be a girls night out on Wednesday. Her birthday was on Saturday.
"A few hours, let alone a few days, and your birthday, and no family, no nothing, it's not her anybody that knows her knows it's not her," said friend Jillian Gibides.
They said Harris was ready an hour before her friends, so she went to the bar Kelley O'Neil's on Lewers Street first.
The girlfriends said when they were pulling up in a cab they saw Ivy standing in front of Kelly O'Neil's across the street. They got out of the cab, walked onto the sidewalk, looked back over and she was gone.
The friends then were text messaging back and forth for an hour to meet up. The last text they sent was at 3:45 a.m., there was no answer back.
"I just hope she's alive. I'm just trying to be strong for her and keep searching for her. I'm not leaving without her," said Miles.
The friends plan to continue posting flyers in residential areas also. Harris was last wearing a red long sleeve sweater with blue jeans. Her family in Portland has set up a Facebook page with pictures of her. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (808) 955-8300.
