HONOLULU -

Fire officials say a dumpster fire at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel in Waikiki Tuesday caused minor exterior damage to the hotel.

Fire crews were called at around 6 a.m. on the Cartwright Road side of the hotel.

Smoke entered the hotel on the first and second floors, according to fire officials.  Flames were called under control around 6:15 a.m.

One hotel employee was treated for smoke inhalation.  There was no officials evacuation of the hotel but some guests left on their own.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Waikiki resident Debi Siegel captured the flames on video.
